How Blanco BBQ Began
In 2007, Steven Honigblum handed Veronica Esparza the keys to the Old San Francisco Steakhouse after 10 p.m., without a credit check or a signed lease. He barely knew her. That kind of trust tells you everything about the man, and it’s the same instinct that led him to open Blanco BBQ in 2013 and call Veronica to help build it into something lasting.
What they built together is a neighborhood restaurant in the truest sense. Steven lives directly behind it. Veronica’s daughter Larissa, who rode the pony in the parking lot as a kid, now works here after earning her business degree. Blanco BBQ is great food and genuine service — but more than that, it’s a place where neighbors, friends, and families belong.
Brisket. Chicken. Sausage. Ribs. Turkey. Pulled Pork.
Smoked low and slow, the way it’s been done in Texas since long before anyone called it a trend. Fourteen hours on the brisket. Sides made in-house. Nothing rushed, nothing cut short.
